Basketball Recap: Nick Watterson and Fenton Coyle Secure Win for Union County

Union County lost to Union City back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Union County Patriots put the hurt on the Union City Indians with a sharp 61-35 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Patriots have posted against the Indians since February 15, 2019.

Union County was led to victory by Fenton Coyle and Nick Watterson. Coyle dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds, while Watterson dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 boards. Thanks to that strong game, Coyle now owns an excellent 46.4% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Grady Coyle, who posted nine points.

Union County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.4 points over those games. Union City is on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.
