Softball Recap: Louisville Royals vs. Sierra Canyon Trailblazers
Louisville had lost four straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 4-14 to make it five. They lost 14-2 to the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trailblazers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 back in April.
Louisville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bridget Woelflein, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
As for Sierra Canyon, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games.
On Sierra Canyon's side, Nina Peyton-Johnson was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Natalia Areliz was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
As of now, neither Louisville nor Sierra Canyon have any future games scheduled.
