West Port can bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Eastside Rams with a sharp 15-2 victory. The Wolf Pack not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since February 18th.
Mason Tidwell looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, West Port let Efren Soto and Ahmari Dixon run wild. Soto scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Dixon scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. What's more, Dixon posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February. Kasey Cadden was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-12. As for Eastside, they dropped their record down to 0-12 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home.
Looking ahead, West Port will head out to face off against Madison County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Madison County's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so West Port's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Eastside will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Interlachen at 6:00 p.m. on March 24th.
