Softball Recap: West Seneca West Warhawks vs. Orchard Park Quakers
West Seneca West extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 1-10 in the process. They lost 12-0 to the Orchard Park Quakers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Quakers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 7-0 loss last Tuesday.
As for Orchard Park, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That somehow still isn't as good as their 15-4 record this season. The result was nothing new for Orchard Park, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
For Orchard Park's part, Ava Farina made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Farina has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Lainey Babich was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Maggie Kandefer was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.
