Baseball Recap: Tocoi Creek Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Tocoi Creek had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the East River Falcons.

Kaleb Stockwell looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ayden Ramos was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Micha Hernandez, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Tocoi Creek pushed their record up to 18-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for East River, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-12.

Tocoi Creek will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
