Volleyball Game Preview: Orono Riots vs. Calais Blue Devils + How To Watch

The Orono Riots will venture away from home to challenge the Calais Blue Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Orono lost 3-0 to Ellsworth on Tuesday.

Orono took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-15, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Calais faced Jonesport-Beals in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Royals by a score of 3-2. The Blue Devils just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Calais was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Jonesport-Beals work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-13, 15-25, 26-28, 17-15.

Calais now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Orono, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Orono couldn't quite get it done against Calais when the teams last played two weeks ago as they fell 3-1. Can the Riots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
