Softball Preview: Caldwell County Tigers vs. Calloway County Lakers        
        
		
            
 The Caldwell County Tigers will look to defend their home field  on Friday against the Calloway County Lakers at 6:00  p.m. The timing is sure in Caldwell County's favor as the  squad sits on three straight wins at home while Calloway County has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
 On Thursday, Caldwell County narrowly escaped with a  win as the  team sidled past Mayfield  5-4.
  Alexis Wood spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four  runs (all of which were unearned)  on one hit and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  pitched less than six  innings in five consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate, Caldwell County let  Daelen Kizzee and  Alicia Stanley loose on the outfield. Kizzee  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances, while  Stanley  went 2-for-3 with two  doubles and  an  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Harper Holeman, who  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, Calloway County never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by  a  15-0 margin over Hopkinsville.
 Caldwell County now  has a winning record of 14-13-1. As for Calloway County, their victory bumped their record up to 7-13.
 Caldwell County took their  win against Calloway County  in their previous meeting  back in April by a conclusive  12-1. Will Caldwell County repeat their success,  or does  Calloway County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
