Basketball Recap: Horizon Science Academy Dragons vs. Cornerstone Christian Patriots
After flying high against the Lake Ridge Academy Royals last Wednesday, the Horizon Science Academy Dragons came back down to earth. Horizon Science Academy took a serious blow against the Patriots on Friday, falling 82-42. If Horizon Science Academy was looking for revenge after losing 85-34 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Leading Cornerstone Christian to victory were Owen Pugh and Quinn Kwasniak. Pugh dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 assists, while Kwasniak dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. Kwasniak is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 25 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Hudson Funk, who scored 15 points.
Horizon Science Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Cornerstone Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.
