Volleyball Recap: Burwell Comes Up Short

Burwell lost against Sumner-Eddyville-Miller back in September of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Longhorns fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 2-1.

When it comes to explaining why Burwell lost, don't look at Karsyn Bower. Despite the final result, she had 15 digs. Bower is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Sumner-Eddyville-Miller found their leader in sophomore Lily Hrasky, who had 12 digs.

Burwell's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-5.

Burwell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Mullen on the 27th. As for Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, they will be playing at home against Wauneta-Palisade at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
