Softball Recap: Galax Comes Up Short

Galax was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Grayson County Blue Devils, falling 18-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Maroon Tide of the 14-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Maddason Bobbitt made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Maddy Hanks also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Galax's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Grayson County, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Galax will square off against Giles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Grayson County, they will face off against Auburn at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least ten runs in their last seven matchups.
