Basketball Game Preview: Carroll Tigers vs. North Polk Comets

Carroll hasn't had much luck against North Polk recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Carroll Tigers will head out to take on the North Polk Comets at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

North Polk will be up against a hot Carroll squad: the team just extended their winning streak to eight. Carroll was the clear victor by a 51-29 margin over Denison-Schleswig on Saturday. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Monarchs are ranked 274th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, North Polk waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Bluejays 76-52. That's two games straight that the Comets have won by exactly 24 points.

North Polk pushed their record up to 18-1 with the win, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Carroll, their victory bumped their record up to 16-4.

Carroll might still be hurting after the 56-35 loss they got from North Polk in their previous matchup back in January. Can Carroll avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
