Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only King's Academy walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Hollister Haybalers 3-2 on Saturday. The victory was familiar territory for the Knights, who have now won nine games in a row.

Katia Nesper spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 18 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Audrey Bennette was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.

King's Academy's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Hollister, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-12 record this season.

As of now, neither King's Academy nor Hollister have any future games scheduled.
