Basketball Game Preview: Plymouth Wildcats vs. Canton Cobras

Plymouth is 0-10 against Canton since February of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Plymouth Wildcats will look to defend their home court against the Canton Cobras at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Plymouth turned things around against Howell on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 49-47 win over the Highlanders. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since December 6, 2024.

Meanwhile, Canton was able to grind out a solid win over Salem on Friday, taking the game 67-57. With that victory, the Cobras brought their scoring average up to 50.8 points per game.

Canton's win came from a few key players Plymouth will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Teddy Winstel, who went 7 of 15 en route to 19 points. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nick Hurley, who posted 11 points.

The win made it two in a row for Canton and bumps their season record up to 9-7. As for Plymouth, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.

Plymouth suffered a grim 69-48 defeat to Canton when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Canton's Kessler Blakita, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 22 points.
