Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Newman AA

Newman AA waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 92-85 win over Non Varsity Opponent. That's the 11th time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 95-64 last Wednesday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Newman AA to victory, but perhaps none more so than Prestin Bollin, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. Bollin has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last seven times he's played. Bennett White was another key player, going 7 of 12 en route to 20 points and seven rebounds.

Newman AA smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Newman AA's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4.

Newman AA wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 97-92 defeat against Non Varsity Opponent on the 18th. As for Non Varsity Opponent, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 37-32 loss against New York School for the Deaf on the 17th.
