Baseball Game Preview: Randallstown Rams vs. Loch Raven Raiders

Randallstown has gone 9-1 against Loch Raven recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Rams will venture away from home to take on the Raiders at 4:00 p.m. Loch Raven took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Randallstown, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Randallstown made easy work of Kenwood and carried off a 15-5 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Antuwan Oliver made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chris Mcleod, who scored five runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Randallstown is 2-1 when Mcleod posts two or more runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Terence Venable, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Loch Raven fell victim to Parkville and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 21-0 to the Knights. The defeat continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost seven in a row.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-4. As for Loch Raven, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Everything went Randallstown's way against Loch Raven when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Randallstown made off with a 19-4 victory. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
