Volleyball Recap: Shakamak's Undefeated Season over After Five Games

If Shakamak was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of North Central on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lakers fell just short of the Riverton Parke Panthers by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lakers of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Shakamak took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-20, 23-25, 25-12, 15-12.

When it comes to explaining why Shakamak lost, don't look at Chloe Holler. Despite the final result, she had 11 digs.

Riverton Parke can attribute much of their success to Milynn Organn, who had 18 digs and two assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylynn Nelson, who had 11 digs.

Having lost for the first time this season, Shakamak fell to 4-1. As for Riverton Parke, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Shakamak wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Sullivan on the 26th. As for Riverton Parke, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Crawfordsville on the 26th.
