Preview: Albany Warriors vs. Pattonsburg Panthers

The Albany Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pattonsburg Panthers on Friday. Albany has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 286 points over their last five contests.

Albany stacked a fourth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They claimed a resounding 62-12 victory over King City on the road. Albany's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Albany got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chase Cline out in front who threw for 148 yards and four touchdowns on only nine passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Quentin Hurkman, who rushed for 93 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries.

Pattonsburg fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They blew past North Andrew, posting a 52-6 win at home.

Gage Iddings was his usual excellent self, throwing for 268 yards and six touchdowns while completing 83.8% of his passes, and also rushing for 90 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. Camden Griffith was another key contributor, picking up 156 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Their wins bumped Albany to 7-2 and Pattonsburg to 3-6.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Albany has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 227.1 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Pattonsburg, though, as they've been averaging only 62.3 per game. How will Pattonsburg fare against such a dominant running game?

Albany suffered a grim 90-66 defeat to Pattonsburg in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Albany avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
