Basketball Game Preview: Forestburg Longhorns vs. Saint Jo Panthers

Forestburg and Saint Jo are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2015, but not for long. The Forestburg Longhorns will challenge the Saint Jo Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Forestburg took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 41-33 victory over Midway.

Forestburg got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brenna Briles out in front who almost dropped a triple-double on 12 points, nine boards, and ten assists. Briles is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jocelynn Rich, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards.

Meanwhile, Saint Jo came tearing into Friday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Eagles as they made off with a 64-44 victory. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 20 points or more this season.

Forestburg is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 14-12 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 18.5 points per game. As for Saint Jo, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-5.

Forestburg was taken down by Saint Jo 61-28 when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can Forestburg avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
