Softball Recap: Kanab Comes Up Short

If Kanab was riding high fresh off their 16-4 takedown of Wayne on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Kanab Cowboys came up short against the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs on Saturday, falling 14-4. The loss continues a trend for the Cowboys in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Kanab saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leah LaPlant, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. LaPlant has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played.

Kanab's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Gunnison Valley, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kanab will venture away from home to face off against Beaver at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gunnison Valley, they and North Sevier will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
