Baseball Game Preview: Cedar Creek Pirates vs. Buena Chiefs

For the second straight game, Cedar Creek will face off against Buena. The Pirates are taking a road trip to square off against the Chiefs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cedar Creek's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Buena's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Cedar Creek's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Monday's struggle, when Buena hitters got past them. The Pirates blew past the Chiefs 20-10 on Monday. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by seven runs or more this season.

JJ Watkins was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two triples, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nolan Scholder, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Cedar Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Cedar Creek and bumps their season record up to 11-4. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.5 runs over those games.
