Doddridge County hasn't had much luck against Wahama recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Bulldogs will look to defend their home field against the White Falcons at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Doddridge County 3.4, Wahama 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Doddridge County is headed into the contest having just posted their closest win since April 9th on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-9 victory over James Monroe. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Kamryn Satterfield made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off nine hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last five matches. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Caitlyn Pratt was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Hadley Ross was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Wahama owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They blew past Poca 9-0. The White Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by eight runs or more this season.
Payton Staats was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Fiona VanMatre, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Wahama hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in six consecutive contests.
Wahama is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Doddridge County, their victory bumped their record up to 18-3.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Doddridge County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .359. However, it's not like Wahama struggles in that department as they've averaged .398. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Doddridge County might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Wahama when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Will the Bulldogs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
