Volleyball Recap: Grace Brees Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Papillion-Lavista

Seward picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They came out on top against the Papillion-LaVista Monarchs by a score of 2-0.

Seward not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Papillion-LaVista between 18 and 20 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-18.

Seward got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Grace Brees out in front who had seven digs and four aces. That's the most aces Brees has posted over her last eight matches.

Several Monarchs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aubree Fettin, who had six kills, three digs, and one block. Drew Schnabel was another key player, getting eight assists and seven digs.

The victory got Seward back to even at 10-10. As for Papillion-LaVista, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Seward didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Lincoln Northwest on the 30th. As for Papillion-LaVista, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Millard North on the 30th.
