Basketball Recap: Amaya Woolford Key Part of Team Effort in Bobcats Win

Cienega lost to Florence on Friday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Bobcats enjoyed a cozy 31-16 win over the Gophers.

Cienega's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Amaya Woolford led the charge by dropping a double-double with ten points and ten blocks. That's the most blocks Woolford has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Alyanna Morales, who had eight points.

The victory got Cienega back to even at 2-2. As for Florence, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Looking ahead, Cienega will be taking part in a tournament against Crismon at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Florence, they will head out to face off against San Tan Foothills at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
