Volleyball Recap: Christian Diaz and Zaihen Arenas-Bailey Secure Win for Sierra Vista

Sierra Vista entered their tilt with Southeast Career Tech on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Roadrunners 3-0. The Mountain Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Roadrunners, too.

Sierra Vista walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-20, 25-11, 25-19.

Leading Sierra Vista to victory were Zaihen Arenas-Bailey and Christian Diaz. Arenas-Bailey had 11 assists and eight digs, while Diaz had 11 digs and four assists. Those four assists gave Diaz a new career-high. Maxwell Hittelman also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

Sierra Vista pushed their record up to 6-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Southeast Career Tech, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Sierra Vista will face off against Silverado at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southeast Career Tech, they will challenge Mojave at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
