Basketball Recap: Commerce Triumphs

If Mount Vernon wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Commerce, they should've done a better job of containing I'Zariah Kilson. Commerce came out on top against Mount Vernon by a score of 51-43 on Tuesday for which the team can thank Kilson, who went 11-for-16 on her way to 27 points and four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Commerce's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kelis Walker, who posted 12 points and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Commerce's win bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Mount Vernon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-15.

Coincidentally, Commerce and Mount Vernon will both be playing Prairiland the next time they take the court. Commerce will head out to face Prairiland at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Mount Vernon will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
