There's no place like home for Chico, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against the McQueen Lancers on Saturday as Chico made off with an 8-1 win. With that victory, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Leah Cawthon made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Cawthon was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emily Babler, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Olivia Murphy also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Chico was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. The last time their batting average was this high was since the start of last season.

Chico now has a winning record of 5-4. As for McQueen, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-7.

Coming up, Chico will welcome Shasta at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chico's pitchers better be ready for this one: Shasta has averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season. As for McQueen, they are taking a road trip to face off against Carson at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
