Football Game Preview: Davis Wolves vs. Holdenville Wolverines

The Davis Wolves will face off against the Holdenville Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Davis' defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Comanche, posting a 35-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Wolves sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Meanwhile, Holdenville humbled Community Christian with a 46-14 victory. With the Wolverines ahead 30-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Davis better keep an eye on Abe Gomez. He was instrumental in Holdenville's win, rushing for 207 yards and three scores on only 14 carries. Gomez's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 114 rushing yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Bo Black, who rushed for 46 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Holdenville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Camron Swayze and Rowdy Elkins.

Holdenville's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Davis, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
