Softball Recap: Alexandria Takes a Loss

Alexandria was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 8-1 to the Brainerd Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 15-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Alexandria saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gretta Kelly, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Alexandria's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Brainerd, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Alexandria will welcome Willmar at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Brainerd, they will head out on the road to challenge Champlin Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight.
