Softball Recap: American Comes Up Short

American and Somerset Academy squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but American had to settle for second. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 7-0. Considering the last time the Patriots couldn't score was back in February, the team can't take the result too hard.

American saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yianelis Rivera, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

American's defeat dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Somerset Academy, their record now sits at 11-12-1.

American does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Somerset Academy, they will take on American Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
