Softball Recap: Goleman Gators vs. Flanagan Falcons

Goleman and Flanagan squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Goleman had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Flanagan Falcons by a score of 13-11. Goleman just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.

Taylor Campos and Sarymar Rivera did some serious damage despite the final result: Campos scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances, while Rivera got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and a triple. Campos is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hazel Arauz, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

On Flanagan's side, Jasmine Gonzalez was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Alessandra Uzcategui, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Goleman's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Flanagan, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-8.

Goleman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Flanagan, they will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against West Broward at 4:00 p.m. One thing working in Flanagan's favor is that they have posted big run totals in their last three contests.
