Softball Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mt. Vernon. If Independence was looking for revenge after losing 4-1 to Mt. Vernon when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Mt. Vernon, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mt. Vernon beat Independence by a score of 4-1 later that day.
