Baseball Recap: Howard Tech Takes a Loss

Howard Tech made up a huge gap compared to their last game against East Ridge, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Hustlin' Tigers fell just short of the Pioneers by a score of 8-6 on Saturday. Surprisingly, this marked the Hustlin' Tigers' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Sean Besley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Mekhai Thomas was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Howard Tech has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 14 of their last 15 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season. As for East Ridge, they moved to 3-15 with that win, which also ended their 14-game losing streak.

While Howard Tech had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
