Baseball Game Preview: Oregon Hawks vs. Stillman Valley Cardinals

Oregon is 2-8 against Stillman Valley since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hawks will face off against the Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Oregon made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Dixon, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Hawks fell just short of the Dukes & Duchesses by a score of 5-3 on Thursday. The Hawks' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Meanwhile, Stillman Valley fell victim to North Boone and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Vikings, falling 15-0. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Oregon now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Stillman Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 5-14.

Everything went Oregon's way against Stillman Valley when the teams last played last Tuesday, as Oregon made off with an 8-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
