Basketball Game Preview: Columbine Rebels vs. Paint Rock Indians

The Columbine Rebels will take on the Paint Rock Indians in a holiday battle at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Paint Rock took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Columbine, who comes in off a win.

Columbine barely beat Dakota Ridge the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rebels blew past the Eagles 67-43 on Thursday.

Columbine's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Dyson Boykin, who went 6-for-10 to rack up 20 points in addition to seven boards and four steals, and Cash Boykin, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten rebounds. The game was Cash's sixth in a row with at least 20 points. Another player making a difference was Brody Burkhalter, who posted ten points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Paint Rock lost a heartbreaker to Highland when they met back in December of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again on Friday. The contest between the Indians and the Hornets didn't end well, with the Indians falling 47-31. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Hornets recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Columbine now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Paint Rock, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
