Basketball Preview: Covenant Classical Warriors vs. Sheets Memorial Christian Eagles
The Covenant Classical Warriors's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Sheets Memorial Christian Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Back in December of 2023, Covenant Classical was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 54-48 to the Eagles.
Meanwhile, Sheets Memorial Christian came up short against the Warriors on Friday and fell 54-44.
Despite the defeat, Sheets Memorial Christian saw an underclassman step up: Jude Howell scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Howell has scored all season. Levi Ferguson was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Covenant Classical dropped their record down to 0-3 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Sheets Memorial Christian, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-15.
Covenant Classical came up short against the Eagles in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, falling 58-52. Thankfully for Covenant Classical, G. Gobble (who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
