Baseball Recap: Oroville Takes a Loss

After flying high against Waterville on Saturday, Oroville came back down to earth. The Hornets fell just short of the Shockers by a score of 7-6 on Saturday. The game marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Owen Wills was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Howe, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

Oroville's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2-1. As for Waterville, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oroville will take on Non Varsity Opponent at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Waterville, they will host Cascade at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
