Baseball Recap: Shorecrest Prep Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Shorecrest Prep lost to Indian Rocks Christian back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. Shorecrest Prep came out on top in a nail-biter against Indian Rocks Christian, sneaking past 4-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.

Beau LeCain was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jake Diner, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Shorecrest Prep pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Indian Rocks Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-9.

Looking ahead, Shorecrest Prep will square off against Keswick Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Indian Rocks Christian, they will take on Canterbury at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Canterbury's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Indian Rocks Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
