Basketball Recap: Marquette Comes Up Short

Marquette lost against McCluer North back in December of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Marquette Mustangs fell just short of the McCluer North Stars by a score of 54-51. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Mustangs came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Stars are ranked 132nd).

Marquette's loss dropped their record down to 16-4. As for McCluer North, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-11.

Looking ahead, Marquette will host Oakville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McCluer North, they will head out to face off against McCluer at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
