Softball Game Preview: Mt. Diablo Red Devils vs. Miramonte Matadors

The Mt. Diablo Red Devils will square off against the Miramonte Matadors at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Diablo has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 19.

Mt. Diablo came up short against Concord on Tuesday, falling 20-1.

Miramonte couldn't beat Las Lomas on Tuesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the third inning. The Matadors lost 18-7 to the Knights. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Matadors have suffered since March 6th.

Miramonte saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sammy Hardy, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Avery Haynes was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Miramonte's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 13-5. As for Mt. Diablo, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.
