Baseball Game Preview: Myrtle Beach Seahawks vs. St. James Sharks

Myrtle Beach is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Monday. They will take on the St. James Sharks at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Myrtle Beach 2.3, St. James 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Myrtle Beach fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Waccamaw on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 3-2.

Myrtle Beach saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gibson Goodroe, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, St. James was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 3-0 to Wando.

St. James also got a good showing from Jacob Herrick, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

Myrtle Beach's loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-4. As for St. James, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Myrtle Beach couldn't quite get it done against St. James when the teams last played back in April of 2018 as they fell 10-6. Can Myrtle Beach avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
