Baseball Recap: Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Comes Up Short

Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union Eagles, falling 11-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hawks of the 17-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in June of 2025.

Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn will square off against South O'Brien at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union, they will challenge Cherokee Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
