The Red Bud Musketeers will venture away from home to take on the O'Fallon Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Red Bud has three straight victories, O'Fallon has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Red Bud picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over Hamilton County.

Olivia Geralds made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Geralds wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Julia Whelan, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. Whelan is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
Meanwhile, O'Fallon fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Murphysboro on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of 6-5. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by just one run.
Kennedy Clark spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Lilli Coleman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Bella Schmitt was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs.
Red Bud's record is now 20-7. As for O'Fallon, their loss dropped their record down to 10-14.
Red Bud's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's contest. The Musketeers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for O'Fallon, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Red Bud continue to outrun the ball?
