Baseball Game Preview: Springfield Tigers vs. Windom Eagles

Springfield and Windom are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Tigers will take on the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

On Thursday, Springfield earned a 7-3 victory over New Ulm Cathedral.

Adiel Trevino and Madden Lendt made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Trevino pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Lendt didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Trevino went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Lendt went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those three RBI gave Trevino a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ely Streich was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brecken Heiling, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Windom got the win against Tracy-Milroy-Balaton on Friday by a conclusive 12-5. Considering the Eagles have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Springfield's record is now 15-2. As for Windom, their record now sits at 13-4.

Springfield suffered a grim 14-4 defeat to Windom in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
