Duchesne can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They walked away with a 49-42 victory over the San Juan Broncos. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.
San Juan's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cole Duke, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 13 points and six rebounds. Jagger Nieves was another key player, putting up nine points and six rebounds.
Duchesne's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-7. As for San Juan, they dropped their record down to 6-8 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Duchesne will challenge Gunnison Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for San Juan, they will venture away from home to challenge Bayfield at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Bayfield has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last six games.
