Basketball Recap: Bartow Takes a Loss

Bartow was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 36-31 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lakeland Christian Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Yellow Jackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 576th, while the Vikings are ranked 252nd).

Despite the loss, Bartow still got an impressive performance from Jalissa Foster, who posted 16 points.

Lakeland Christian found their leader in sophomore Khloe Overstreet, who earned 13 points and six rebounds. Sarah Bennett was another key player, putting up six points and seven boards.

Bartow's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Lakeland Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Bartow has already played their next game, a 58-19 loss against McKeel Academy on the 21st. As for Lakeland Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 46-12 victory against Academy at the Lakes on the 21st.
