Baseball Recap: North Gaston Takes a Loss

North Gaston easily dispatched Huss on Wednesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Wildcats fell just short of the Crest Chargers by a score of 6-4 on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in April.

Caleb Cloninger was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

North Gaston's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Crest, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

As of now, neither North Gaston nor Crest have any future games scheduled.
