Fall River won against Montello on Tuesday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Pirates beat the Hilltoppers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-2. Considering the Pirates have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Fall River is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Montello, they dropped their record down to 6-13 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.
