Football Game Preview: Parkersburg South Patriots vs. Hurricane Redskins + Official Tickets

The Parkersburg South Patriots are taking a road trip to take on the Hurricane Redskins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Parkersburg South was handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against John Marshall last Friday. The Patriots blew past the Monarchs 41-14. With the Patriots ahead 27-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Parkersburg South's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kinzyn Lutchmansingh, who threw for 201 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes. Those three passing touchdowns gave Lutchmansingh a new career-high. Asa Yost was in the mix as well, providing Parkersburg South with one score.

Parkersburg South didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Channing Barrett and Taj Joyce. Parkersburg South received some extra help from Yost, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hurricane). Everything went their way against St. Albans on Friday as they made off with a 44-22 win.

Hurricane's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Parkersburg South, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Everything came up roses for Parkersburg South against Hurricane when the teams last played back in November of 2022, as the squad secured a 58-27 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
