Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Milford

It's playoff time, and Milford had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 73-63 win over the Longmeadow Lancers on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for the Scarlet Hawks as they're now sitting on three straight.

Milford got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Andrew Rivera out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine assists. Rivera's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Gus Coutinho was another key player, dropping a double-double with 18 points and 14 boards.

Rivera wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Milford was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Milford pushed their record up to 12-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points over those games. As for Longmeadow, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

As of now, neither Milford nor Longmeadow have any future games scheduled.
