Baseball Game Preview: Miami Stingarees vs. Downtown Doral Dolphins

The Miami Stingarees will face off against the Downtown Doral Dolphins at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Miami's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Downtown Doral has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

If Miami beats Downtown Doral with 11 runs on Monday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Miami never let North Miami Beach get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Thursday. The Stingarees might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Alex Semet looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Miami got a massive performance out of Jann Soto, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Santiago Espana-Reconco, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Downtown Doral came up short against TERRA Environmental on Friday, falling 10-2.

Robin Liberatore was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. He also launched a home run, marking his first of the season. Marcel Martret was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Miami's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Downtown Doral, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Miami skirted past Downtown Doral 2-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will Miami repeat their success, or does Downtown Doral have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
